Steering Committee

The Steering Committee was co-chaired by Dr. Sally Lundeen, the Project Leader and Dick Best, the Executive Director of the West Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board. Mr. Best worked with Dr. Lundeen in writing the successful grant proposal to the Department of Labor to fund this initiative. The committee consisted of representatives from major Wisconsin health care employers and health care associations, the UW system, the Wisconsin Technical College system, the Wisconsin Workforce Initiative at state and regional levels, and members representing minority nurse populations in the state.

The committee was established at the end of the first year of the project and met 6 times throughout the project duration to review the progress of the SWIFT initiative toward meeting its goals. The members were extremely helpful in suggesting additional strategies to recruit employers to support SWIFT Nurse Educator candidate and to recruit the actual candidates once the employers had signed on.
